Educational Qualification:
- Passed Class 10th from a recognized board; and
-
Diploma (Three-year course) in Automobile Engineering
awarded by an institution recognized by the Central Government or State Government;
or
Diploma (Three-year course) in Mechanical Engineering; and - Possession of a valid Driving License authorizing the driving of motorcycles with gear and light motor vehicles.
Note:
- Learning Driving License will not be considered valid.
- Candidates must attach a certificate showing that the institute issuing the diploma is recognized by the Central or State Government.
- Degrees/mark sheets related to allied subjects other than Diploma in Automobile Engineering / Mechanical Engineering will not be considered valid.

The written exam will consist of three papers:
- Paper 1 – General Studies
- Paper 2 – Automobile Engineering or Mechanical Engineering (Candidate has to choose one)
- Paper 3 – Motor Vehicle Rules and Acts
