UGC NET 2026 is a National-level exam conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) to determine eligibility for Assistant Professor and Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) in India.
Candidates who have completed or are pursuing a Master’s degree with at least 55% marks (50% for reserved categories) can apply.
For JRF: Maximum 30 years.
For Assistant Professor: No upper age limit.
UGC NET 2026 exam will be conducted in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode.
There are two papers – Paper I (General) and Paper II (Subject-specific).
The total duration is 3 hours (180 minutes) without any break.
You can apply online through the official NTA website by filling out the application form and paying the required fee.
JRF is valid for 3 years, while Assistant Professor eligibility is valid for a lifetime.
