UTET 2026 Eligibility & Educational Qualification

UTET-I (Primary Level: Classes I to V)

1.	Passed Class 12th (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and a 2-Year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed/BTC).
2.	Passed Class 12th with at least 45% marks and a 2-Year D.El.Ed/BTC recognized by NCTE Regulations, 2002.
3.	Passed Class 12th with at least 50% marks and a 4-Year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
4.	Passed Class 12th with at least 50% marks and a 2-Year Diploma in Special Education recognized by RCI.
5.	Graduation (or equivalent) with a 2-Year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed/BTC).
6.	Government Primary School Shiksha Mitras who have completed a 2-Year D.El.Ed from IGNOU with State Government approval are also eligible.
7.	Regular In-Service Assistant Teachers/Head Teachers teaching Classes I to V in recognized schools are also eligible.

UTET-II (Upper Primary Level: Classes VI to VIII)

1.	Graduation (or equivalent) with a 2-Year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed/BTC).
2.	Graduation with at least 50% marks and B.Ed / L.T. / Shiksha Shastri.
3.	Graduation with at least 45% marks and B.Ed as per NCTE Regulations.
4.	Passed Class 12th with at least 50% marks and a 4-Year B.El.Ed.
5.	Passed Class 12th with at least 50% marks and a 4-Year Integrated B.A.Ed / B.Sc.Ed.
6.	Graduation with at least 50% marks and B.Ed (Special Education) recognized by RCI.
7.	Graduation/Post Graduation with at least 50% marks and B.Ed (as per applicable NCTE norms).
8.	Regular In-Service Assistant Teachers/Head Teachers/LT Teachers teaching Classes VI to VIII in recognized schools are also eligible.

Important Notes

• Candidates pursuing a recognized Teacher Education Programme are also eligible to apply as per NCTE guidelines.
• All qualifications must be obtained from recognized Universities/Boards and NCTE-approved institutions.
• Reserved category candidates (SC/ST/OBC/PwBD) are eligible for 5% relaxation in minimum qualifying marks as per NCTE norms.
• The final eligibility shall be determined according to the latest NCTE Regulations and the official UTET 2026 Notification.
